TCBL joins forces for shemakes project

Announcing our involvement in a new project, shemakes, that empowers women in the textile and clothing industry. is a new European Union funded project that runs from January 2020 to December 2022 with the goal of empowering future female innovators of the sustainable fashion industry through inspiration, skills and networks. The lead partner is CEDECS-TCBL, the French innovation and business development consultancy that acts on behalf of the TCBL Network.

The power of TCBL is united with another network, that of the fablabs involved in Fabricademy, a transdisciplinary course that focuses on the development of new technologies and approaches in the textile industry. The values and learning models of Fabricademy feed into the shemakes system, while TCBL’s diffused lab model and network of associates is another one of the bases of our new project.

Other partners are the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), Waag in Amsterdam, Onl’Fait in Geneva, Fab Lab León, Redu in Iasi (Romania), Matrix based in Düsseldorf, and the global organization Makesense. Evaluation is carried out by The Tavistock Institute GmbH. Communications are managed by Flod, a Florence (Italy) agency.

Over the coming two years, follow shemakes on social media or sign up for the newsletter to receive information about shemakes activities, such as free workshops to learn new skills, free networking events both online and offline, and inspirational talks by successful women in the industry.
