During the TCBL_ATHENS 2017 annual event, the participants took part on a workshop about the Batik method of colored designs on silk scarves by dyeing them, having first applied wax to the parts to be left undyed. This step by step method was demonstrated by Mr. George Tsiakiris (Greek Silk).

The Textiles & Clothing Design Lab took place in the Fashion Revolution Week / #whomademyclothes campaign, on the anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse, which killed 1138 people and injured many more on 24th April 2013. That is the day Fashion Revolution was born. During this week, brands and producers are encouraged to respond with the hashtag #imadeyourclothes and to demonstrate transparency in their supply chain.
Within the framework of the Textiles & Clothing Business Labs (TCBL) project, MIRTEC (Materials Industrial Research & Technology Center) and HCIA (Hellenic Clothing Industry Association) organized a conference at Metropolitan Expo Center during the Athens Fashion Trade Show. The issues presented, included Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Fashion - the case of Soffa, presented by Ms.
