Jubilee Full Professor, especially dedicated to Mediterranean history and heritage. Founder and first UNESCO Chair Holder (Intangible Heritage and Traditional Know-how; Linking Heritage). Leader of many national and international teams and visiting professor in several universities (Cape Verde, Paris, Italy, Canada, and China). Published some dozens of books and papers and performed many lectures in Portugal and abroad. Since the last 20 years a pro bono member of the board of the Fondation Orient-Occident (Rabat – Morocco) supported by UNICEF and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees among others.
