September 17th is Bio-Fashion Innovation Day
On September 17th for the whole day, TCBL members will share needs, challenges and innovative solutions to help transform the Textile and Clothing sector. There will be keynotes and roundtables in the morning, case studies and hands-on demonstrations in the afternoon, and the day will end with a networking cocktail. Events all take place in the “Agora” area of the fair.
The day begins at 10am with an introduction to Bio-fashion Innovation Day by Cedecs-TCBL’s Frédérique Thureau. We’ll then have two keynote speeches. Centexbel’s Willem Uyttendaele will brief us on “The promising outlook on bio-based textiles”, followed by Karel van den Berghe who will speak about “Rebuilding urban value chains”.
To follow, three panels on the topics of Scaling bio-fashion / Needs and challenges; Local, social & beautiful / Designing appealing systems for local production; Innovative learning programs / Accelerating the shift to sustainable fashion.
In the afternoon, starting at 2pm we’ll look at case studies and demonstrations of tools. UAL’s Laetitia Forst will bring some strategies and demonstrations about Design, Elvys Sandu from MaiBine will talk about how we can Make the most of fabrics from a social and local perspective, and Alexandra Korey will share TCBL’s experience in the creation of knowledge platforms and courses to make learning open and accessible.

The TCBL ReSources podium
Four exhibiting SMEs from the TCBL network will showcase circular and sustainable production of fabrics, garments and accessories. You can visit them at ReSources from Monday September 15th to Wednesday September 17th.
The chosen exhibitors are:

Exhibition on bio-based, local and circular innovations
The Herewear project developed innovative bio-based fibres and experimented with the creation of garments with these bio-textiles in small batch and local production. On September 17th, we’ll be setting up a stand-alone exhibition in an area next to the Agora with information about bio-based, local and circular production and samples of garments from the project and its post-project progress.
